Thyroid and Parathyroid Gland Cancer

The Thyroid gland is situated just below the larynx, in the front of the neck. It absorbs iodine from the bloodstream to produce thyroid hormones that regulate your body's metabolism. A healthy thyroid gland is hard to discover by touch. An enlarged thyroid gland is called a goiter; a swollen thyroid gland can also be a sign of a tumor in the thyroid.

If you have thyroid or parathyroid malignancies, your body might show symptoms like a lump in the front of the neck, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, pain in the throat or neck, or persistent cough. Parathyroid tumors can cause significant issues like increased amounts of calcium in the blood, causing hypercalcemia. If you feel any such difficulties for a longer period of time, you should consult your doctor.
