In Ileostomy, a surgical operation removes the damaged part of the ileum (the last part of your small intestine), and the cut end is rerouted to an artificial opening in your abdominal wall however, a colostomy is another surgical procedure that connects the colon to your abdominal wall.
There is no doubt such a surgical procedure causes intermittent pain in the patient. Your oncologist may recommend multimodal analgesias such as paracetamol, opioid, and various non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to manage postoperative surgical pain.
