Immunotherapy is a fast-evolving cancer treatment modality that helps your immune system to fight against cancer. White blood cells and tissues of the lymph system build your immune system, which helps your body fight against infections and diseases. Immunotherapy works against cancer growth; this type of biological therapy uses content made from living organisms.

Although the immune system can prevent or slow cancer growth, cancer cells may find ways to avoid destruction by the immune system, such as genetic changes or having proteins on their surface, making them less visible to the immune system.
