Dr. Mainak Deb

Dr. Mainak Deb is a Consultant Medical Oncologist with over 9 years of experience in the field of oncology and a special interest in immunotherapy, targeted therapy and precision oncology.

He completed his MBBS from North Bengal Medical College, followed by MD in Radiation Oncology from NRS Medical College, Kolkata. He further obtained the prestigious DNB in Radiation Oncology from the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi. Subsequently, he pursued super-specialty training in Medical Oncology and earned his DrNB (Medical Oncology) from the renowned Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad, one of India’s premier cancer centers.

Dr. Deb has strengthened his academic and professional credentials through several internationally recognized qualifications, including the MRCP (SCE) in Medical Oncology, United Kingdom, and the ESMO Certification in Medical Oncology awarded by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He is also a Certified Graduate in Cancer Immunotherapy from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), USA, reflecting his expertise in the rapidly evolving field of cancer immunotherapy.

In addition, he is a certified specialist in Palliative Care, having successfully completed the Certificate Course in Essential Palliative Care (CCEPC) conducted under the aegis of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC). His integrated approach emphasizes not only cancer-directed treatment but also symptom control, quality of life, and holistic patient support throughout the cancer journey.

His areas of clinical expertise include breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, gynecological cancers, genitourinary cancers, head and neck cancers, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.

Dr. Deb has been actively involved in academic and research activities throughout his career. His achievements include receiving the prestigious ICMR-STS Fellowship. He has participated in several national and international academic programs, including advanced oncology training initiatives conducted by Harvard Medical School.

He is a member of several leading national and international oncology societies, including the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), the Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (ISMPO), the Indian Cooperative Oncology Network (ICON), and the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI).
